Variant cover spotlights isolate the art treatment from the story inside. Collectors mix up “foil wraparound” with “virgin cover” more often than they mix up issue numbers. Each spotlight uses the same checklist: background colour, extra effects, artist credit as published, and whether the layout copies a famous paper cover.

The spotlight ends with a ledger tag you can paste into local notes. Tags are boring on purpose: TITLE / TREATMENT / DATE. Excitement belongs on the cover; the file should stay searchable.
